It's great to play ball on the beach, swim and screech to run away from the sea wave rushing at you! Some want to go sailing on a boat or catamaran, while others want to play with sand until mom sees, and build a castle with towers.
Why is there always a mild climate on the coasts?
The coast is always mild. The water here is warmer than in rivers and lakes. Why? The seas and oceans with their entire surface absorb the heat of the sun, and give it away very slowly, gradually. Therefore, warm water warms the coast year-round.
In a glass, the water is clear, in the pool - blue. And in the sea, when there is a lot of it, it becomes blue or greenish - depending on how the sun's rays are refracted in it.
Why is the sea salty?
When we drink water from a spring, it seems to us that it is sweet, although in fact it has a little salt. Streams flow into rivers, and rivers flow into the sea, bringing their salt into it. The sun heats the sea water and it constantly evaporates. But the salt remains! This is described in detail in our article: why is the water in the sea salty?
The water cycle in nature
Every day water from the sea evaporates from the heat of the sun, but it does not become shallow, because many rivers carry their waters into it day and night. Steam rises into the sky, thickens and gathers in clouds, and then falls to the earth in the form of rain. Rivers and underground streams are filled with water, which again rushes into the sea. The circle is closed.
